Adobe has invested in the British artificial intelligence startup Synthesia, betting that this technology will transform video production.
The mentioned startup stated in a media comment that Adobe’s venture capital arm injected an undisclosed amount of money into Synthesia. It was noted that the investment was carried out within the framework of a strategic partnership. The startup did not inform reporters of the financial and commercial terms of cooperation with Adobe.
Synthesia claims that it serves more than 70% of Fortune 100 companies. The startup sells a platform that firms can use to develop videos with life-like avatars generated by artificial intelligence. Individuals can also make their own AI avatars either in one of Synthesia’s production studios or on a personal device.
Adobe is a creative technology powerhouse valued at approximately $150 billion. The company is best known for its Photoshop image editing tool. Adobe also makes Premiere Pro, a video editing platform used by professionals in broadcast media, advertising, and other industries.
Synthesia also reported that its annual recurring revenue reached $100 million. In this case, it means a measure of the annual revenue generated from subscriptions, which renews each year.
It is worth noting that against the background of the active development of artificial intelligence, the issue of cybersecurity has become more relevant. Scammers also have access to machine intelligence tools. For this reason, their activities have become more sophisticated. To counteract the corresponding threat in the virtual space, personal awareness of users is important. For example, an Internet search query such as how to know if my camera is hacked will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
