The media, citing anonymous insiders, published the information, according to which the startup Anysphere Inc., which operates in the space of the artificial intelligence industry and is the developer of the popular AI-powered code editor Cursor, is currently negotiating to raise hundreds of millions of dollars from investors at a valuation close to $10 billion.
The journalists’ informants claim that it is expected that the fundraising process would be led by Thrive Capital. Insiders have used the right of anonymity, as the negotiation process is conducted in a confidential manner. The mentioned process has not been completed yet. This means that any conditions for the expected raising of investments may change, including dramatically relative to the initial intentions.
Representatives of Thrive and Anysphere did not respond to a media request for comment on the mentioned information.
The Cursor coding tool has gained a scale consumer audience. During the 12 months, the startup’s annual recurring revenue exceeded $100 million. In January, Anysphere was valued at $2.5 billion.
It’s worth noting that in the era of artificial intelligence, which has actually begun, the relevance of the issue of cybersecurity has increased dramatically. Scammers also have access to AI tools, which is why their activities have become more sophisticated. To counteract the corresponding threat in a virtual environment, personal awareness of users is important. For example, an Internet search query such as how to know if my camera is hacked will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
