ChatGPT search, OpenAI’s feature within ChatGPT, which allows this chatbot to access and incorporate up-to-date information from the Internet into its responses, is at a fast clip in Europe.
A report from one of the mentioned startup’s EU corporate divisions, OpenAI Ireland Limited, shows that for the six-month period ending March 31, the specified feature had approximately 41.3 million active recipients per month on average. This figure is significantly higher than about 11.2 million average monthly active recipients for the period of the same duration, which ended on October 31 last year.
OpenAI regularly publishes information on ChatGPT search to comply with the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA), which regulates many aspects of online service operations in European countries. According to the DSA, a definition such as monthly active recipients means people actually engaging with the service at least once in a given period of time by being exposed to information disseminated on the online interface of the virtual platform, such as viewing it or listening to it, or by providing information.
ChatGPT Search was launched last year. This feature has become one of the examples of integrating digital intelligence into the Internet search area.
It is worth noting that against the background of the active development of artificial intelligence and the scaling of the practice of using AI, the issue of cybersecurity has become more relevant. Scammers also have access to machine intelligence tools. To counteract the corresponding threat in the virtual space, personal awareness of users is important. For example, an Internet search query such as how to know if my camera is hacked will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
