The media published information according to which Meta Platforms is planning to release the latest version of its large language model in the current month.
It is worth noting that the mentioned technology giant delayed the debut of the specified virtual product at least twice. Meta is currently seeking to strengthen its position in the artificial intelligence race, which is intensifying and scaling amid increasing competition in the AI industry.
The media published information about the expected debut in April, citing anonymous insiders. At the same time, the journalists’ informants noted that the technology giant could push back the release of Llama 4 again. In the relevant context, it was underlined that the mentioned artificial intelligence model during development did not meet Meta’s expectations on technical benchmarks, particularly in reasoning and math tasks.
Moreover, the media reported that the technology giant was also concerned that Llama 4 was less capable than OpenAI’s models in conducting humanlike voice conversations.
This year, Meta plans to spend up to $65 billion to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure.
