Oracle has added role-based artificial intelligence agents to its cloud supply chain and manufacturing suite.
In a press release published by the mentioned company, it was noted that the new functional offering is designed to automate routine tasks and allows firms to devote more time to strategic initiatives in the supply chain area.
Chris Leone, executive vice president of applications development at Oracle, stated that supply chain professionals often spend several hours a week on administrative tasks such as data analysis, policy analysis, and order processing, and this significantly reduces productivity and resources. According to him, artificial intelligence agents launched by the company and designed for supply chain management help ease the administrative burden by streamlining workflows and automating routine tasks, which ensures greater accuracy and efficiency, smarter decision-making, and ultimately a more agile and responsive supply chain.
The company’s press release noted that the mentioned agents can help procurement professionals create, process, and fulfill purchase requisitions faster and more accurately. For example, such a virtual assistant can provide insight into procurement policies, share product recommendations, and identify specific information needed to complete a purchase requisition.
Artificial intelligence agents can also help manufacturers and production operators determine whether operations align with procedural guidelines and safety standards. Moreover, the corresponding virtual assistants will help streamline suppliers’ access to company-specific policies and guidelines to increase productivity levels.
