The media published information according to which Perplexity AI, which is gradually becoming an increasingly powerful player in the global artificial intelligence industry, is currently in preliminary negotiations on raising investments worth $500 million at a valuation of $14 billion.

The potential acceleration of this indicator’s growth is still a theoretical prospect at a time when Apple is considering adding artificial intelligence search features to the Safari browser. At the same time, Perplexity has plans to launch its own Comet browser. This information was published by the media with reference to insiders.

Perplexity AI did not respond to a journalist’s request for a comment on the insider information.

Currently, in the functional space of the mentioned company’s corporate digital ecosystem, users are offered access to a search tool in the form of sentences with links to websites from which data was obtained to form a response to a consumer request.

Perplexity AI is currently on a high-intensity development trajectory. At the same time, competition is increasing in the artificial intelligence industry as a whole, including in the search engine segment. For example, OpenAI added a search engine to ChatGPT. Also in this context, it is worth mentioning that Google introduced AI Overviews.

The market capitalization indicator of Perplexity AI demonstrates consistent intensive growth. In the first months of 2024, this figure was $520 million. In the middle of last year, the company’s market capitalization reached $3 billion. Towards the end of 2024, this indicator rose to $9 billion.
