As the US federal government is focused on improving agencies’ workflows and legacy systems, ServiceNow underscores its dedication to transforming public sector operations through advanced technology with the new Government Transformation Suite.
ServiceNow, a provider of AI-powered solutions for businesses, has unveiled its Government Transformation Suite that combines high-impact AI-powered solutions tailored to federal priorities. The solutions suite aims to improve asset management, streamline workflows, optimize software investments, and enhance efficiency, transparency, and accountability for U.S. federal agencies.
The ServiceNow Platform will unify and simplify data management across different departments, streamlining tasks and reducing the time and effort needed to switch between systems. Additionally, it modernizes HR and office management, using AI-driven workflows for HR processes. In particular, the new system simplifies returning to the office with easy workspace setup.
The AI-powered solutions also provide visibility into hardware, software, and enterprise assets to reduce costs and inform decision-making. They identify redundant or outdated software to eliminate overlap, control costs, and avoid disruptions. It is especially important for the U.S. government, with its IT spend around $125 billion annually. The federal agencies need to make those investments auditable or tracked against actual usage or mission needs, which is often not possible today due to some legacy infrastructure and processes.
The new set of AI tools will be supplemented by accelerated use of agentic AI to further support public sector missions. ServiceNow’s AI Agents are autonomous decision-making and executing systems designed to automate repetitive tasks across various business functions, including IT, HR, and customer service. By automating routine tasks, AI Agents free up employees to focus on more strategic activities, leading to increased overall productivity. Beyond executing predefined tasks, AI Agents are capable of autonomously identifying issues and resolving them, further reducing the need for human oversight. Besides, these agents operate continuously, 24/7, ensuring that critical processes are managed around the clock without human intervention.
Some agentic AI innovations introduced for the future public sector enhancement include Workflow Data Fabric that integrates data from multiple sources with no additional storage costs (launching June 2025); AI Agents, launching March 2025; and RaptorDB – a high-speed database for large-scale data processing, available in April 2025.
ServiceNow’s partners Accenture Federal Services and Intact will assist with deploying the new service suite, leveraging their experience in federal IT modernization to ensure agencies achieve cost savings and mission success quickly.
The Government Transformation Suite will soon be available in ServiceNow’s U.S.-based regulated cloud environments, including the Government Community Cloud and National Security Cloud, which meet FedRAMP and DoD compliance standards. Furthermore, an innovation center in Washington, D.C., will open later this year for government agencies to explore and demo these solutions.
The U.S. government has consistently pursued initiatives to enhance the transparency and efficiency of its federal services. A notable recent development is the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk. The DOGE’s aim is to reduce government waste and improve service delivery by focusing on operational efficiency, minimizing bureaucratic processes, and cutting unnecessary expenditures.
However, the Department currently faces multiple lawsuits challenging Elon Musk’s authority to access sensitive government data through DOGE, its potential unconstitutional violations of the Privacy Act, Internal Revenue Code, and Federal Information Security Modernization Act, as well as the agency’s administrative overreach, including attempts to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
