ServiceNow powerful agentic AI and automation capabilities, combined with Moveworks front-end AI assistant and enterprise search technology, will help speed up the adoption and innovation of AI in businesses.
Through the acquisition of Moveworks, an AI-powered platform that focuses on improving employee experiences by automating and streamlining IT support and other enterprise services, ServiceNow aims to expand the use of its agentic AI platform in important growth areas, including CRM.
ServiceNow signed a definitive agreement to acquire Moveworks for $2.85 billion. The deal value is subject to customary purchase price adjustments, with the price payable in a combination of cash and stock. The transaction is expected to finalize in the second half of 2025, upon customary regulatory approvals and meeting other closing conditions.
The acquisition will merge ServiceNow’s strengths in agentic AI, its orchestration, customisation, and automation with Moveworks’ front-end AI assistant and enterprise search technology to create new, enhanced experiences for employees across all areas of the business. Following the acquisition, ServiceNow, with thousands of deployed AI agents, will continue to expand the use of its AI platform to accelerate innovation and adoption in key growth areas like customer relationship management.
By combining the two companies, ServiceNow and Moveworks aim to transform employee engagement by offering a universal AI assistant and more advanced AI-based enterprise search, which will provide quicker answers, automate tasks, and boost productivity. Many of Moveworks’ current customers already use ServiceNow to access enterprise AI and workflows, ensuring a smooth integration. This acquisition will push ServiceNow forward in agentic AI-driven business transformation, enabling greater AI adoption and delivering impactful results for employees and customers.
ServiceNow’s new AI solution is its fastest-growing product, with nearly 1,000 AI customers and over $200 million in annual contract value (ACV) as of 2024. Moveworks, with a team of 500+ AI experts, has also seen rapid adoption of its AI assistant, reaching nearly 5 million employee users in 18 months and serving major companies like Hearst, Instacart, and Unilever. Moveworks’ AI services will expand ServiceNow’s reach, connecting with over 250 mutual customers and enhancing the unified AI platform.
Besides, the forthcoming acquisition will strengthen ServiceNow’s overall growth strategy, blending agentic AI with its existing workflow automation expertise. The companies hope to deliver a seamless, end-to-end search and self-service experience across HR, CRM, finance, IT, and more, integrating AI agents to optimize task management. Current use cases for Moveworks include automating sales, CRM, and HR tasks, improving employee productivity and customer service. Therefore, this acquisition positions ServiceNow to enhance its AI-driven solutions and create a more cohesive customer service experience across its platform.
