Spain to Grant $155 Million to Help Companies Develop AI

Machine intelligence is not what can be called a highly specialized working tool. The possibilities of artificial intelligence are diverse and multifaceted. There is currently a so-called machine intelligence boom in the world. The corresponding process, which is the main technological trend in the space of the current historical moment, began after OpenAI’s ChatGPT debuted in November 2022. This chatbot powered by artificial intelligence has demonstrated to the consumer audience impressive capabilities related to processing huge amounts of information and generating original content based on user prompts.

Artificial intelligence can also increase the productivity of the manufacturing process. In this case, AI can be characterized as a kind of economic growth platform. There is also a possibility that over time machine intelligence will surpass the human mind in terms of cognitive abilities.

Against the background of the mentioned opportunities and prospects, the interest of governments in artificial intelligence is logical. Spain will grant additional subsidies totaling 150 million euros ($155 million) to companies to expand the use and integration of AI. This was announced on Monday, January 20, by the country’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

It is worth noting that against the background of the active development of artificial intelligence, the issue of cybersecurity is relevant. Scammers also have access to AI, which is why their activities have become more sophisticated. To counteract the corresponding threat in cyberspace, personal awareness of users is important. For example, an Internet search query such as how to know if my camera is hacked will allow anyone to get information about signs of unauthorized access to the device.
