Together AI, backed by Nvidia, announced last Thursday, February 20, that it raised $305 million in the latest round of financing, which increased the market capitalization of this startup operating in the artificial intelligence space, more than twice as much as the reading recorded last year.
The mentioned funding round was led by venture capital company General Catalyst. Currently, the market capitalization of Together AI, based in San Francisco, California, is $3.3 billion.
Salesforce Ventures, Nvidia, and Coatue also participated in the specified funding round, which was co-led by Prosperity7, the venture capital fund of Aramco Ventures.
The San Francisco-based startup has received new funds at a time when it plans to expand its cloud platform and intends a large-scale deployment of Nvidia Blackwell graphics processing units. Founded in 2022, Together AI’s cloud platform allows developers and researchers to train and deploy generative artificial intelligence models.
Last year, the startup raised $106 million as part of a funding round led by Salesforce Ventures. At that time, the market capitalization of Together AI was $1.25 billion. It is worth noting that the startup quickly gained attention. In this case, the impact factor was the offering of access to Nvidia’s sought-after graphics processing units.
Together AI’s platform supports more than 200 open-source artificial intelligence models, including Llama from Meta Platforms and the corresponding virtual product from DeepSeek.
Deepseek’s launch of its latest low-cost machine intelligence models last month was a sensation for the industry and actually challenged the leadership of the United States in the area of digital intelligence in the framework of the race for dominance in this technology.
Prosperity7 Ventures Managing Director Abhishek Shukla stated that recent developments in open-source artificial intelligence illustrate the importance of Together AI’s work in making access to models like these secure, and powerful for organizations in the US and around the world.
Last year, the startup increased its user base to more than 450,000 machine intelligence developers. It is highly likely that this indicator will continue to move along an upward trajectory.
