At the same time, Walmart does not intend to abandon its requests to suppliers to cut prices by as much as 10% with each new round of tariff increases. Insiders point out that in this case, Walmart essentially asks suppliers to shoulder the duties of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. The informants of the journalists used the right of anonymity, since in this case, it implies discussions that are conducted in a strictly confidential mode.
Walmart’s position, which has not changed due to the impact of Chinese officials, as noted by the media, reflects the predicament that has recently become a reality for companies from the Asian country. Donald Trump’s tariffs are adding to the stress on top of slowing the growth of China’s economy, which is the second-largest in the world.
