In China, a man transferred more than 2,553 Ether worth $6.8 million to various addresses, including a burn address and WikiLeaks donations, claiming that Chinese entities and corporations control people using mind-control technology and devices.
Last Monday, February 17th, an Ether investor named Hu Lezhi transferred 500 ETH to a null address (0x0000) associated with token burn events. This unusual transfer of funds was flagged by the Arkham trading platform and crypto intelligence.
During further investigation conducted by media representatives, it became known that Hu Lezhi had made 16 high-value transactions to various addresses. In this case, among other things, WikiLeaks donations, the Ethereum foundation, and several unlabeled and burn addresses are implied.
Each of the mentioned transactions contained onchain messages in which Hu Lezhi claimed that Chinese companies and entities use brain-computer weapons to persecute employees and turn victims into puppets or complete slaves of a digital machine. It is worth noting that these formulations largely coincide with the standard narratives of the so-called conspiracy theories and some concepts of alternative explanations of reality, which provide that the world as the habitat of human civilization is governed by a secret government that controls people’s minds to varying degrees and imposes various behaviors on them.
Hu Lezhi described himself as a computer programmer who recently concluded that he had been monitored and manipulated his entire life. According to him, after this realization, people who exercised mind control began to cause him even more harm.
Hu Lezhi specifically blamed Kuande Investment’s Chinese chief executive officers, Feng Xin and Xu Yuzhi, accusing them of using brain-computer weapons to persecute employees. At the same time, he claims that the minds of the mentioned persons were also controlled by the same technology.
The transfers began on February 10 and were spaced out till February 17. Many transfers contained a message that there was a new mode of crime in which the victim was gradually deprived of a sense of desire until he became a complete slave to the digital machine. In the corresponding context, Hu Lezhi also repeated several times that he intended to leave the world if he became a victim of the final stage.
The reason for the transfers in this case has been clarified. Hu Lezhi stated that the relevant financial operations were directed to highlight his message. The total amount of transfers reached about $6.86 million.
It is possible that Hu Lezhi has encountered a problem that can be described as a distorted perception of reality. Whether this perception in the mentioned case is the result of certain logical errors or the consequences of mental characteristics is unknown. At the same time, in the context of the specified situation, a distorted perception of reality is only an assumption, not a statement. Why Hu Lezhi came to the conclusions that forced him to make transfers is not known for certain. It is worth noting that the conspiracy theory that all human thoughts and actions are the result of suggestion is not new.
