Global online marketplace Temu is partnering with Canadian fintech company Nuvei to provide worldwide customers with greater access to local payment methods.
In a press release published on Friday, February 28, on the official website of the Canadian firm, it was noted that as part of the mentioned partnership, Temu clients will be able to pay using the relevant services of payment systems such as Konbini, au Pay and Payeasy in Japan; MBWay, Blik and P24 in Poland; Bancontact in Belgium; iDeal in the Netherlands; and MBWay and Multibanco in Portugal.
The press release also contains information according to which the specified integration will be expanded in the current year. In a practical sense, this means that Temu customers will have access to local payment methods in countries such as Chile, Colombia, and Canada.
A Temu spokesperson stated that providing localized payment methods is an important part of increasing convenience for clients. It was also noted that this company is always looking for ways to optimize its payment processes to meet the needs of different markets.
Nuvei currently connects businesses to their customers in over 200 markets. The company offers local acquiring in 50 markets, 150 currencies, and 720 alternative payment methods. Nuvei chair and chief executive officer Philip Fayer stated that by providing the experience of hyperlocalized payments on a global scale, the firm enables international e-commerce giants such as Temu to develop deeper relationships with their customers through payments.
